Umo Eno’s Aide Empowered 100 Market Women With N5million

Umo Eno’s aide empowered 100 market women with N5million. The Personal Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Volunteer Services, Mr. Sunday Usikhifo, has given an insight into why he dolled out N5Million to 100 market women in Akwa Ibom State.

Baring his mind on the Initiative tagged “Happy Hour On Valentine’s Day”, the Governor’s Aide explained that the gesture was inspired by Pastor Umo Eno, who he noted has, through his compassionate lifestyle, touched many lives within and outside the state, irrespective of political affiliation.

Mr. Usikhifo further said that having observed the Governor’s benevolence to some female youths recently, he has aligned with the Governor’s approach by providing business grants to market women across the three senatorial districts of Akwa Ibom State.

He explained that beneficiaries of the grant, who were selected randomly from markets in Uyo, received N50,000 each, along with bags of rice.

“As an ARISE Ambassador, my aim is to ensure His Excellency succeeds in his ARISE Agenda. Like a week or two ago, we saw what His Excellency did by empowering some of the female youths with the sum of 750,000 Naira each for them to engage in various businesses.”

“So I keyed into that agenda by empowering one hundred market women with the sum of fifty thousand Naira each. Hundred of them, that is, Five Million Naira. So, I am promoting the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno PhD”, he said.

While soliciting for more support for the current administration, the Governor’s Aide announced that the gesture will be done quarterly.

A former Supervisor in Ika LGA who is also an ARISE Ambassador, Akabom Ndifreke, commended Mr. Osikhifo for love for humanity, noting that the business grants on Valentine’s Day were not a coincidence, but rather a deliberate effort to give back to the community.

He expressed hope that the grants will assist the small scale business women to boost their trade in order to earn meaningful living.

One of the beneficiaries, 22-year-old Ms. Emediong Joseph, from Afaha Ibesikpo, expressed her gratitude for the grant, which she plans to use to support her mother’s business.

Other beneficiaries while thanking Governor Eno and Mr. Sunday Usikhifo, promised to make judicious use of the grant.
