The elite strike shield safeguarding Nigeria’s air power: NAF PANTHERS. Disciplined, adaptive and relentlessly mission-focused, the Nigerian Air Force Special Forces, the Panthers, represent the sharp edge of ground combat capability within the NAF Regiment.
Purpose-built to secure the foundation upon which air power thrives, they embody the doctrinal evolution of the Nigerian Air Force into a fully integrated air–ground combat institution. Carefully selected and rigorously trained, the Panthers have been shaped through sustained capacity-building programmes at home and abroad, aligned with global special operations standards.
Their expertise spans special reconnaissance, airborne insertion, close-quarters battle and counter-terrorism operations, reflecting a force structured not merely for defence, but for decisive action in complex and high-threat environments.
As the indispensable ground shield of the Nigerian Air Force, the Panthers guarantee the secure environment required for sustained air dominance. Their operational spectrum extends from perimeter defence and rapid-response deployments to close protection of high-value assets and aircrew, landing zone security, convoy escort and integrated joint missions across multiple theatres nationwide.
Technologically enabled and tactically superior, they combine advanced marksmanship, night-fighting capability, secure communications and rapid mobility platforms to operate with precision and speed. Their training architecture reflects continuous benchmarking against leading global special operations forces, ensuring interoperability, doctrinal relevance and enduring operational readiness in an evolving security landscape.

SEC Revokes Kensington Agro’s Licence, Warns Against Trading With Firm
SEC Revokes Kensington Agro’s Licence, Warns Against Trading With Firm
SEC revokes Kensington Agro’s licence, warns against trading with firm. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) says it has revoked the registration of Kensington Agro Trading Limited as a capital market operator.
The revocation takes “immediate effect”, the commission said in a public notice on Saturday.
However, the regulator did not disclose details on the circumstances leading to the revocation.
The SEC said the company was registered to operate as a commodity broker/dealer and collateral manager in the Nigerian capital market.
“The Securities and Exchange Commission (‘the Commission’) hereby notifies the general public of the revocation of the registration of Kensington Agro Trading Limited as a capital market operator (Commodity Broker/Dealer and Collateral Manager) with immediate effect,” the notice reads.
The SEC said the decision was taken pursuant to its powers under section 61(6) of the Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2025 and Rule 34(1) of the SEC Rules and Regulations 2013, as amended.
According to the agency, the revocation means the firm is no longer authorised to carry out capital market activities in the country.

Exchange Commission
The SEC advised commodity exchanges, investors, commodity traders, and other capital market stakeholders to discontinue all capital market-related dealings with the company with immediate effect.
The latest regulatory action comes a week after the organisation suspended trading in the shares of Zichis Agro-Allied Industries Plc.
The move follows what the NGX described as “extraordinary price movements” in the company’s stock.

Unknown gunmen storm Kwara community, loot shops. The gunmen came on motorcycles.
Gunmen, on Saturday, stormed Gada Oli, a village not far from Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, throwing residents into panic.
Residents, who confirmed the development to Peoples Gazette on Sunday, said the attackers stormed the village around 8 p.m. on Saturday, shooting sporadically and causing residents to flee for safety.
They added that the terrorists came on motorcycles, broke into food and phone shops, and carted away valuables.
“They came around 8 in the evening and started shooting sporadically to scare people away,” one of the residents said. “They didn’t kill anybody but they broke into shops where they stole phones, foodstuffs and other valuables.”
Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the matter.

Bandits
The latest development came weeks after armed jihadists attacked Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama LGA of the state, killing over 200 residents and kidnapping several others.
The incident, which drew local and international attention, marked the deadliest attack in the state, fueling concerns over the urgent need to ensure the safety of lives and property across the country.
Last week, scores of residents took to the streets to protest the killings and kidnappings, especially in the northern axis of the state, accusing Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s government of negligence.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, recently launched the Joint Task Force Operation Savannah Shield to combat insecurity in Kwara and parts of Niger State.

NDLEA Arrests Wanted ‘Drug Kingpin’ Who Has Been In Hiding For 13 Years
NDLEA Arrests Wanted ‘Drug Kingpin’ Who Has Been In Hiding For 13 Years
NDLEA arrests wanted ‘drug kingpin’ who has been in hiding for 13 years. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Reginald Peter Chidiebere, “a wanted drug kingpin”, who went into hiding for 13 years.
He was nabbed over cocaine and heroin shipments linked to him.
In a statement on Sunday, Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, said Chidiebere was first arrested in 2013 for cocaine trafficking and arraigned before Justice Ayokunle Faji of the federal high court, Lagos, in charge number FHC/L/187c/2923
He, however, jumped bail after being released and went underground.
His name resurfaced in February 2024 as one of the masterminds behind the importation of 49.70 kilogrammes of heroin from South Africa.
The consignment was intercepted by NDLEA operatives at the import shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.
“A follow-up operation was carried out on 19th February 2024 at his Golden Platinum Hotel & Suites, located at No. 16/18 Reginald Peter Chidiebere Street, Hope Estate, Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos where an additional 2.20 kilograms of heroin was recovered from one of his guests, Igbuanugo Ebuka ThankGod. As a result, Chidiebere went underground,” the statement reads.
The agency subsequently secured an interim forfeiture of the hotel and blocked bank accounts traced to him.
“Following these developments, Chidiebere could no longer sustain himself in hiding, prompting his surrender to the agency on 13th February 2026,” Babafemi said.
He has since been taken into custody to face “his pending charges for which he jumped bail in 2013 and fresh charges based on the 2024 heroin consignments linked to him”.
Reacting to the arrest, Buba Marwa, NDLEA chairman, said the agency remains resolute in dismantling criminal networks and bringing offenders to justice.
“I commend our officers and men for their persistence and professionalism in this operation,” he said.

NDLEA
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives in Imo state on February 25, dismantled “a clandestine laboratory tucked in Isiozi Obiato, Umuaka, Njaba local government area” where 18.4 kilogrammes of methamphetamine were recovered along with “large quantity of precursor chemicals and equipment used in the production of the illicit substance”.
At the Seme border in Lagos, officers on February 27, intercepted a Togolese woman, Hadiza Musa, who concealed “5,000 pills of tramadol in her luggage”.
In a separate operation, “1,040 kilograms of skunk” were recovered from an uncompleted building at Akodo village, Seaside Eleko, along Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos.
Other seizures recorded across states included 1,499 bottles of codeine syrup recovered in Kano, 87.4 kilogrammes of skunk intercepted in Katsina, and 18.085 kilogrammes of skunk seized in Osun.
