NAF Advances People-centric Engagement With Medical Outreach In Oguntade Community
In furtherance of its commitment to humanitarian service and community engagement, the 041 Communication Information Systems Depot (041 CIS Depot), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Shasha, conducted a Medical Outreach Programme at Oguntade Community on Saturday, 9 May 2026.
The outreach, which focused on free eye screening and the distribution of eyeglasses, was aimed at enhancing civil-military relations while improving access to essential healthcare services for members of the host community.
The initiative aligns with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to sustain a people-centric Nigerian Air Force that remains responsive to the welfare and aspirations of Nigerians while advancing national security and development.

During the outreach, medical personnel carried out comprehensive eye examinations and consultations for community members to identify and address common vision-related challenges.
A total of 143 beneficiaries received free eye screening and medical consultation, while 52 eyeglasses, alongside 39 units of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops, were dispensed based on medical recommendations. Additionally, 12 individuals diagnosed with more complex eye conditions were referred to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Ikeja, for further evaluation and treatment.
Beneficiaries without visible eye conditions were also educated on the importance of regular medical check-ups for early detection and prevention of eye-related ailments.
The outreach programme recorded significant positive impact within the Oguntade Community by providing critical healthcare support at no cost to beneficiaries. Speaking during the event, the Commander 041 CIS Depot, Air Commodore DU Edet, reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to sustaining strong ties with host communities through impactful humanitarian initiatives that directly improve the wellbeing of citizens.

He noted that the NAF remains committed not only to defending the nation’s territorial integrity, but also to supporting national development through people-oriented interventions.
The initiative further reinforced the image of the Nigerian Air Force as a responsive and compassionate institution dedicated to the promotion of harmonious civil-military relations under the leadership of Air Marshal Aneke.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has unveiled a nationwide ₦66 fuel discount promotion for customers using the NNPC Fuel App.

In a post obtained from its X handle on Friday, the promotion, which runs from October 1 to 7, is being held across NNPC stations nationwide as part of activities marking the period.
“The ₦66 Discount Promo is ongoing & the excitement is already happening across our stations nationwide!
“All over Nigeria, our customers are getting in on the action & there’s still time for you to benefit!
The promo runs from 1–7 October on the NNPC Fuel App,” the post read.
NNPC said customers across the country have already begun participating in the promotion, with highlights from the first day showing activities at several stations.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has expressed the readiness of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to explore a strategic partnership with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) to strengthen indigenous capacity in aircraft spares production, technology transfer and specialised technical training.

The CAS stated this on 29 September 2026 when the Chairman of IVM, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, CON, paid a courtesy visit to him at Headquarters NAF, Abuja.
Discussions focused on leveraging IVM’s indigenous manufacturing capabilities to support NAF operational requirements and advance local content in the defence sector. Chief Chukwuma highlighted IVM’s interest and capability in the production of selected aircraft parts and spares, while also showcasing its CNG and electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities.
The CAS welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to partnerships that promote local production, technology transfer and human-capacity development. He also expressed interest in exploring affordable vehicle acquisition options for NAF personnel through convenient payment arrangements, subject to further engagement and applicable procedures.
