Ita Enang: APC To Takes Over Akwa Ibom In 2027
APC to takes over Akwa Ibom in 2027. With the new year message from Distinguished Senator Ita Enang, on the barrage of attacks against both the incumbent and immediate past Governors of Akwa Ibom State, it is now becoming clearer than daylight, that the big masquerades are gradually emerging from the forest of oblivion.
Senator Ita Enang has been a prominent figure in Nigerian politics for over three decades, holding various positions, including serving as a Councilor, Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, a three-term member of the House of Representatives, a one-term Senator, and a Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters and Niger Delta Affairs.
While his long tenure in public office is undeniable, the real question is whether his presence has translated into tangible benefits for his constituents. That, however, is a matter between him and his people.
For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Ita Enang should serve as a perfect example to students of politics on how not to be a public servant. His political trajectory is one marked by desperation for power rather than a commitment to public service.
He first served in the House of Representatives for two terms from 1999 to 2007. In 2007, he sought the Senate seat but lost in the primaries to Senator Effiong Bob. Instead of accepting defeat, he returned to Abuja, used his political maneuvering, and came back with the PDP ticket for the House of Representatives—a position he never initially contested for. He went on to secure a third term in the House, denying his kinsman, Dr. Henry Archibong of that opportunity.

In 2011, he finally found himself pushed into the Senate. However, his performance—whether good or bad—was not enough to earn him a second term.
During the 2015 election season, as a PDP member, he supported President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election and also backed Udom Emmanuel, the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate. Yet, when he failed to secure

Akwa Ibom Governor Eno Commends Quality Job Delivery By Contractors At Project Sites
Governor Umo Eno has expressed satisfaction with the quality and timely delivery of jobs by contractors at different project sites in the State.
Fielding questions from Government House Correspondents shortly after his inspection of the projects, Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that projects are properly monitored and appropriately funded in line with the contract agreement.
He explained that the routine on-the spot inspection avails him the opportunity to carry out critical assessment of key projects, monitor project timeliness, staff welfare, pace and quality of job execution and funding approvals.
“Mine is to make sure that the work is going on, we get our money’s worth, ensure contractors are on site and that they are doing what they are supposed to do.
“This inspection, for me, is to give me an on-the spot assessment, monitor our time lines. Everywhere I went to, I can tell you that I am satisfied at the pace of work, and the quality of work done,” he stated.
The Governor thanked the contractors for their commitment to their jobs, and urged them to keep to timelines and specifications while prioritizing the safety and welfare of staff.
“I belief that the contractors know that we will demand that they do the work according to our specification.
“I am not just checking the work, I also check the staff, to ensure that everything is going on well. So when I get an IPC on my desk, I know exactly what that payment voucher is addressing. All of these works you see me inspect today, I have payment vouchers waiting for me to sign off.
“So, I have to come to see and be sure that they have reached certain levels before we can make the next set of payments.”

Senator Aniekan Bassey Advances Rural Infrastructure, Economic Opportunities In Akwa Ibom Community
Rural infrastructure. Esuk Odu Beach has historically served as a vital fishing settlement and trading hub for coastal communities in Uruan. Over the years, it has remained a center for the exchange of dried fish, palm oil, and indigenous crafts, sustaining livelihoods across the region.
Despite its calm waters and scenic appeal, qualities that position it as a promising leisure and tourism destination, the area’s economic potential remained largely underutilized due to prolonged infrastructural deficits.
This trajectory is now being transformed through the ongoing construction of the 3.96km Adadia–Ekim Enen–Esuk Odu Beach Road, a project facilitated by Senator Aniekan Bassey in alignment with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda on infrastructure development.
Upon completion, the road will establish a direct and dependable transport corridor, significantly reducing travel time and logistics costs for farmers, fishermen, and residents of Uruan and adjoining communities. By linking inland agricultural zones with Issiet Market and extending to Esuk Odu’s coastal trade routes, the project will enhance the efficient movement of goods and services.
Improved accessibility is expected to stimulate growth across key sectors, including fisheries, aquaculture, sand mining, and small-scale tourism. It will enable farmers to transport perishable produce more efficiently, minimize post-harvest losses, and provide traders with a safer, more reliable supply chain. Furthermore, the improved infrastructure is likely to attract private sector investment in hospitality, recreation, and related services, thereby generating employment and boosting local economic activity.
Residents, including farmers and fishermen, have expressed deep appreciation to Senator Aniekan Bassey for facilitating the project, describing it as a long-awaited solution to persistent mobility challenges. Beyond improved access, they view the road as a symbol of renewed economic prospects and inclusive development.

Senator Bassey
This initiative underscores Senator Bassey’s commitment to grassroots development. It reinforces his support for Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, which prioritizes rural transformation as a catalyst for sustainable growth in Akwa Ibom State.
