ICPC, NPF Forge United Front to Combat Corruption in Oyo
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have solidified their strategic partnership in Oyo State to dismantle institutional corrupt practices, recognising that a united front is indispensable for upholding the rule of law and fostering good governance.

This renewed commitment was underscored recently during a high-level courtesy visit led by the ICPC’s Oyo State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), Mr. Chile Ogwuegbu, to the State Police Command Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
The delegation was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, in a meeting that signalled a new era of robust inter-agency synergy.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ogwuegbu expressed his profound gratitude for the CP’s hospitality and reaffirmed the Commission’s unwavering dedication to deepening its collaborative ties with the Police.
He stressed that effective partnerships between law enforcement and security agencies are not merely beneficial but are critical to effectively combating corruption, promoting public accountability, and enhancing the overall delivery of essential services.
The Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner further elaborated on the ICPC’s statutory mandate to prevent, investigate, and prosecute corruption-related offences.
He noted that the Commission places a premium on institutional cooperation, asserting that sustained collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force is vital for achieving a more significant and lasting impact in the national anti-corruption crusade.
In his response, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga lauded the ICPC for its proactive approach and reiterated the Oyo State Police Command’s readiness to strengthen the existing bonds with the Commission.
He observed that the mandates of security and law enforcement agencies are intrinsically interconnected and complementary, emphasising that no single entity can effectively tackle the multifaceted security and criminal justice challenges of the modern era in isolation.

In a post obtained from its X handle on Friday, the promotion, which runs from October 1 to 7, is being held across NNPC stations nationwide as part of activities marking the period.
“The ₦66 Discount Promo is ongoing & the excitement is already happening across our stations nationwide!
“All over Nigeria, our customers are getting in on the action & there’s still time for you to benefit!
The promo runs from 1–7 October on the NNPC Fuel App,” the post read.
NNPC said customers across the country have already begun participating in the promotion, with highlights from the first day showing activities at several stations.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has expressed the readiness of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to explore a strategic partnership with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) to strengthen indigenous capacity in aircraft spares production, technology transfer and specialised technical training.

The CAS stated this on 29 September 2026 when the Chairman of IVM, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma, CON, paid a courtesy visit to him at Headquarters NAF, Abuja.
Discussions focused on leveraging IVM’s indigenous manufacturing capabilities to support NAF operational requirements and advance local content in the defence sector. Chief Chukwuma highlighted IVM’s interest and capability in the production of selected aircraft parts and spares, while also showcasing its CNG and electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities.
The CAS welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed NAF’s commitment to partnerships that promote local production, technology transfer and human-capacity development. He also expressed interest in exploring affordable vehicle acquisition options for NAF personnel through convenient payment arrangements, subject to further engagement and applicable procedures.
