Fight Terrorists, Not Opposition, ADC Tells Tinubu
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his declaration that he is prepared to “fight to the finish” politically, saying he should focus on defeating terrorists rather than the opposition.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said it was disturbing that the President made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) while the country continues to grapple with worsening insecurity, including the recent attack on Naridon village in Kaduna State that claimed at least 30 lives.
Describing Tinubu as Nigeria’s “Statement Maker-in-Chief,” the ADC argued that the President has become “a commentator” on insecurity but “a combatant” against the opposition, accusing his administration of responding to attacks with condemnations rather than decisive action.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is deeply concerned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose his meeting with members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to declare that he was prepared to “fight to the finish” politically, even as Nigerians continue to live under the shadow of terrorism, banditry and violent crime.
This is our message: Mr President, the fight Nigerians elected you to lead is not against the opposition. It is against the terrorists, kidnappers and armed criminals who continue to kill innocent citizens and destabilise communities across the country.
Only hours before the President’s remarks, at least 30 people were killed in a late-night attack on Naridon village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Homes were burnt. Families were displaced. Another community was left devastated by an attack that should never have happened.
Yet, the President, whose primary duty is to protect and preserve Nigerian lives has chosen instead to serve as Nigeria’s Statement Maker-in-Chief. After every attack comes another statement. After every massacre comes another condemnation. After every tragedy comes another expression of sympathy. Nigerians did not elect a Commander-in-Chief to become the nation’s chief issuer of condolence statements.
What is equally disturbing is that when it comes to insecurity, President Tinubu is a commentator. However, when it comes to the opposition, he is a combatant. Mr President should reserve decisive words and actions like “fight to the finish” to defeat the terrorists, bandits and kidnappers who continue to shed innocent Nigerian blood, not the opposition who want to save Nigerians from his misrule and failure.
Instead of preparing for another political fight, President Tinubu should be leading the fight against those who have turned communities across the country into killing fields and forced countless Nigerians from their homes. That is the battle the country expects him to win.
After more than three years in office, this administration cannot point to a security record that justifies political bravado. Given its catastrophic failure to secure lives and property, one would have expected the President to be reflecting on his record, not digging in politically.

The ADC believes elections are won by performance, not by declarations of political toughness. The President’s real opponents are not the opposition. They are terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and the growing insecurity that continues to claim innocent Nigerian lives. Those are the enemies he was elected to fight, and as things stand today, they remain undefeated.

FOC Western NAVAL Command Reaffirms Partnership With Nigerian Ports Authority
The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Abubakar Abdullahi Mustapha, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to enhance port security and support efficient maritime trade.

Rear Admiral Mustapha stated this during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the NPA, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, at the Authority’s Headquarters in Marina, Lagos, on Tuesday, 28 July 2026.
The FOC explained that the visit was aimed at consolidating the longstanding collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the NPA in promoting a secure maritime environment and efficient port operations. He conveyed the appreciation of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, for the Authority’s strategic role in advancing the nation’s Blue Economy and economic development.
He highlighted the Nigerian Navy’s sustained efforts in enhancing maritime security through surveillance capabilities and operational deployments, assuring the NPA of the Western Naval Command’s continued support in safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime domain.
Responding, Dr Dantsoho commended the Nigerian Navy for its vital role in securing the nation’s waterways and facilitating port operations. He called for sustained collaboration and increased operational support to further strengthen port security and improve trade facilitation.

EFCC Hands Over Recovery N42 Million To Businessman
The Ag Zonal Director, Benin Zonal Directorate, Deputy Commander of the EFCC, Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad on Wednesday July 29, 2026 handed over a bank draft of N42 million to Ebesunun Mathew Edonojie, being the sum recovered by operatives of the Commission from fraudsters that defrauded him.

Edonojie, a businessman dealing in cement had in 2022 petitioned the Commission that one Ogiemwonyi Godwin defrauded him of N175,392, 000. The petitioner stated that he transferred the sum of N350,784, 000 to Godwin for the supply of 116 trucks of cement but that he was supplied with 58 trucks leaving a balance of 58 trucks which amounted to N175,392,000.
During investigation, operatives discovered that Godwin transferred N280 million to Dangote Cement Company but diverted the balance of N70 million for his personal use and supplied 58 trucks leaving a balance of 58 trucks of cement.
The suspect became inaccessible and unreachable but through the consistent effort of operatives of the Commission, the Commission recovered N116,000,000 which was previously handed over to Edonojie before recovery of additional N42,000, 000
Receiving the draft, Edonojie expressed deep gratitude to the Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, the Ag Zonal Director, Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad and the entire staff of EFCC at the Directorate for the wonderful work. Edonojie said he lost hope completely about ever recovering the money as the suspect became inaccessible. “I lost hope completely. I did not even believe that I could recover the money as the man (suspect) was nowhere to be found.
I am more than grateful to the EFCC, the Chairman, the Zonal Director and the entire EFCC, for the good work they are doing. It is only God that can reward you all. EFCC has become my saving grace and I am going to tell everybody how the EFCC saved me. I could not sleep because I borrowed the money. EFCC has wiped away my tears.” he said.

Presenting the draft, the Ag Zonal Director, assured that the Commission will continue to discharge its duties professionally to ensure justice for all.
“We will continue to discharge our duties professionally and responsibly by ensuring that fraudulent people do not get away with their crime and that innocent people do not suffer unjustly.”

EFCC Disclaim, Says “Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus Not Wanted”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to disclaim a WANTED publication made by a certain Abdullahi Saidu Shugaba on his Facebook account: Zamfara State Media Forum, that Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus was declared WANTED by the Commission.
