Ex-Lagos Governor Candidate, Abdul-Azeez Jandor Dumps PDP
Ex-Lagos Governor candidate, Abdul-Azeez Jandor dumps PDP. Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR), the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has officially resigned from the party.
Announcing his decision at a press conference in Ikeja on Monday, JANDOR stated that he is leaving the PDP along with his supporters across the 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) of the state.

NSCDC Receives Bulletproof Vests, Helmets From LSSTF In Lagos
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has received bulletproof vests and helmets from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Oluwaseun Abolurin.

Mr Abolurin said that the items were presented by the executive secretary and chief executive officer of LSSTF, Ayo Ogunsan, on Monday and received by the state commandant of the corps, Adedotun Keshinro.
Mr Keshinro said the donation reflected the continued collaboration between the LSSTF and security agencies in the state to improve safety and operational effectiveness.
According to him, the donation is aimed at strengthening our operational capacity and enhancing safety during security operations across the state.
The commandant reaffirmed the corps’ readiness to deepen collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safer, more secure Lagos.
He expressed appreciation to LSSTF and described the gesture as unprecedented, adding that it would boost morale among field personnel.

“The support will further boost the morale and operational readiness of personnel in the field, and the items will be put to judicious use. The command remains committed to protecting lives and property in line with its mandate,” he said.
The commandant also said that the donation underscored the importance of inter-agency support in strengthening internal security architecture and enhancing the capacity of security operatives in the state.

ADC: Aspirant pledges to prioritise constituents’ needs, inclusive leadership
An aspirant for the House of Representatives, Chanchaga federal constituency of Niger state, on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, Shehu Isah-Usman, has pledged to prioritise the needs of constituents if elected.
Mr Isah-Usman, the chairman and chief executive officer of the Usman Dantata Foundation, made the pledge on Tuesday in Minna.

He said his aspiration was to bring governance closer to the people, promising inclusive leadership through regular engagement with constituents.
The aspirant assured that he would prioritise town hall meetings to interact with residents, understand their challenges, and ensure their concerns are adequately represented in the National Assembly.

He also pledged to focus on youth empowerment, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, education, healthcare and infrastructural development to improve the living standards of the people of Chanchaga federal constituency.
Also, the director-general of the ADC campaign committee, Abubakar Abdullahi, said the campaign team is engaging stakeholders across the constituency to ensure victory at the polls.

Federal College Of Agriculture Gets New Provost
Federal College of Agriculture gets new provost. Ifeanyichukwu Iroha has been appointed the new substantive provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, in the Ivo LGA of Ebonyi.
Mr Iroha’s appointment followed the withdrawal of the letter of appointment earlier issued to Ekwe Agwu on April 10, 2026.
Mr Iroha confirmed his new appointment in an interview on Tuesday in Abakaliki.

The new provost, prior to his appointment, was a lecturer in the Department of Applied Microbiology at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
According to the letter of withdrawal of appointment for the former provost, signed by Abubakar Dabban, executive secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, dated May 11, the termination is effective immediately.
Mr Dabban noted that the letter superseded all previous letters issued to the former provost.
The letter addressed to Mr Agwu was captioned ‘Withdrawal of Letter of Appointment as Provost/CEO of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ebonyi State’.
“Sequel to the Council’s appointment letter issued to you as Provost of Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, vide a letter with ref: ARCN/11/01/S.2/11/316 of April 10, 2026, in line with the approval of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu.
“This is to inform you of the withdrawal of your appointment letter with immediate effect. This letter supersedes all the previous letters issued to you by the council,” said the letter.
Mr Iroha is a professor of medical microbiology with a specialisation in pharmaceutical microbiology.
He is an indigene of the Ishiagu community in the Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi and the second indigenous provost of the institution since its establishment in 1992.
The professor began his lecturing career in the Department of Applied Microbiology at EBSU in 2004 and is a recognised expert in antimicrobial resistance and molecular characterisation.
The distinguished academic was the former head of the Department of Applied Microbiology and the former dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at EBSU.
In October 2025, he was appointed as the pioneer provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies at the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu.
Mr Iroha obtained his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, respectively.

Federal College Of Agriculture
The professor of medical microbiology is a seasoned researcher with over 180 publications who won a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany.
He conducted research on Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamases at Ruhr Universität Bochum (2009–2011). His research specialises in antimicrobial resistance, molecular characterisation, and pharmaceutical microbiology, including topics on MRSA and resistance genes.
Mr Iroha is a prominent figure in microbiology education in Nigeria and is often referenced as a speaker at academic conferences.
