APC Vows To Punish Members Challenging Matawalle’s Leadership In Zamfara

APC vows to punish members challenging Matawalle’s leadership in Zamfara. Mr Idris stated that Mr Matawalle remained the APC leader in Zamfara State.

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vowed to punish members trying to create problems in the party leadership in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Tuesday by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris.

He said, “The APC leadership under Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, we reiterate our support to President Bola Tinibu’s administration in the country.

Danfulani was elected under the supervision of INEC through a National Secretariat Congress Committee headed by a highly respected party man, Senator Kabiru Masari, who is the current political adviser to President Bola Tinubu.

“The Zamfara State chapter of the APC, read with dismay a concoction of lies attributed to one Mansur Khalifa, a nonentity in the official circles of the APC both in Zamfara and at the National Secretariat of our great party in Abuja.

“It is surprising that a non-member of the party or someone who has been suspended indefinitely from the party from ward level, ratified by the State Executives and confirmed by the National Secretariat of the party. For the avoidance of doubt and in order to freshen their memories, persons such as Mansur Khalifa, including Aminu Jaji, were suspended from the party on March 17, 2024.”

According to Mr Idris, they were suspended over their alleged disrespect to the party and other forms of misconduct.

He said that the state APC leadership had observed the Mr Jaji support group’s constant alleged romance with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party, saying,” they are inching towards their possible defection from the APC.

“On the Ramadan packages distributed by our leaders, the party’s communiqué appreciated the individuals mentioned who supported the members of the party. The party remains fully grateful to them; we urge them to continue to do more for the benefit of our members and the entire people of the state.

Our leaders, including former governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and the Minister of State, Defence, Bello Matawalle, had supported thousands of beneficiaries from the nooks and crannies of the state with cash, grains and clothing materials.”

Mr Idris stated that Mr Matawalle remained the APC leader in Zamfara State, adding, “They have failed to understand what we have been telling them because of their envy for Matawalle.

“The APC has a constitution that guides its politicking which whether they like it or not, he is the leader of Zamfara APC.

The constitution of our great party has clearly spelt out that if there is a sitting governor in a state who is a member of APC, he is the leader. If there is no minister from the state, a past governor is the leader. So, Matawalle, both as the immediate past governor and the current minister from Zamfara, is the APC leader.

Challenging Matawalle is misconduct and disrespect to the party’s constitutional guideline.”

In the spirit of the Sallah celebration and his continued commitment to supporting the people, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR) has once again demonstrated his love for his party by distributing over 6,000 bags of rice to All Progressives Congress (APC) party executives from the wards to the State, across the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.

This generous gesture is part of JANDOR’s long-standing tradition of philanthropy and extension of love to party managers and faithfuls especially during festive periods.

It could be recalled that on Monday 23rd December 2024, Dr. Adediran held a Christmas get together at his campaign office where thousands of party faithfuls were gifted with bags of Rice and financial support to celebrate the yuletide.

Hundreds of political associates who were in attendance were equally provided with gifts in the spirit of the season.

Earlier in July, August and September 2024, JANDOR gifted over 300 political associates cash support and donated 5 vehicles for hailing business (Uber) to political supporters, set up a block industry for someone in Epe and assisted physical-challenged with an electric wheelchair among several other forms of assistance.

Lesotho FA Admits Protest Against Bafana Bafana Wasn’t Filed Correctly, Seeks FIFA To Enforce Rules

Lesotho FA admits protest against Bafana Bafana wasn’t filed correctly, seeks FIFA to enforce rules. FIFA’s decision on the case could significantly impact the group standings and determine the fate of the African qualifiers.

The secretary-general of the Lesotho Football Association (LFA), Mokhosi Mohapi, has admitted that his federation did not officially file a protest against South Africa for fielding an ineligible player in their 2026 World Cup qualifier.

However, he insists that FIFA must still enforce its regulations for the integrity of the game.

South Africa, which currently leads Group C with 13 points, faces a possible three-point deduction after Teboho Mokoena played against Lesotho despite accumulating two yellow cards in previous qualifiers against Benin and Zimbabwe.

Bafana Bafana won the game 2-0 with goals from Relebohile Mofokeng and Jayden Adams, but if FIFA applies the standard penalty for fielding an ineligible player, their qualification hopes could take a serious hit.

While acknowledging that Lesotho failed to file the protest within FIFA’s official timeframe (two hours after the match and within 24 hours post-game), Mohapi told South African TV station Newzroom Afrika that he believes FIFA should act independently:

“If you look at article 8.3, which says they should have been automatically suspended, the ball is in FIFA’s court.

“It is up to them to make a decision that is consistent with what they have done in the past and what they should be doing in the future to ensure that the sport is played fairly,” Mohapi said.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is reportedly monitoring the situation closely, as a points deduction for South Africa would boost Super Eagles’ chances of qualifying for the World Cup.

However, Mohapi dismissed any notion that Lesotho’s actions were influenced by Nigeria’s interests:

“Whether they give us the three points or not is not a matter for consideration. The letter was sent on Tuesday, and we are in constant communication with FIFA and SAFA.

“There is no bad blood between us and SAFA. We do not even mean to allow ourselves to be drawn into the Nigerian aspiration of qualification. Let us all play the game on the field of play with strict adherence to the regulations,” he said.

With six games played, Nigeria sits fourth in Group C with 7 points, trailing South Africa (13 points), Rwanda (8 points), and Benin (8 points).

FIFA’s decision on the case could significantly impact the group standings and determine the fate of the African qualifiers.
