President Tinubu Building Nigeria’s Future ‘Byte By Byte’ As He Did With Lagos: APC
President Tinubu building Nigeria’s future ‘byte by byte’ as he did with Lagos: APC. “True to his lifelong commitment to visionary governance and innovation, President Tinubu is building on the same foundation he laid as governor of Lagos state,” the party said.
The All Progressives Congress says Nigerians must recognise President Bola Tinubu’s silent revolution of the digital landscape, building a great future for youths.
The APC spokesman in Lagos, Seye Oladejo, in a statement on Tuesday, urged Nigerians to look beyond the noise of opposition parties regarding Mr Tinubu’s administration.
“The Tinubu administration is not merely talking about the future. It is building it, byte by byte, code by code, and innovation by innovation,” Mr Oladejo said.
Mr Oladejo applauded Mr Tinubu for championing Nigeria’s ongoing technological renaissance. He described it as a bold and deliberate revolution that is fast transforming the country into Africa’s uncontested digital powerhouse.
“True to his lifelong commitment to visionary governance and innovation, President Tinubu is building on the same foundation he laid as governor of Lagos state,” he said.
According to him, Mr Tinubu was the first governor to deploy technology to modernise governance, reform revenue generation, and enhance service delivery.
Mr Oladejo said, “Today, that legacy has evolved into a national digital masterplan driving growth, innovation, and youth empowerment. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria’s tech ecosystem has witnessed a surge in both activity and global recognition.
“The administration’s 3 Million Technical Talent Programme, implemented under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, is equipping young Nigerians with essential digital skills. These skills include coding, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence – ensuring that our youths are not just job seekers but global competitors.”
Mr Oladejo said that the president’s broadband expansion policy, aimed at achieving 70 per cent penetration by 2025, was already connecting millions in rural and urban communities to the digital economy.
He said that the administration’s focus on the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the Digital Public Infrastructure Initiative, and the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act had created a framework, enabling innovation to flourish.
“Concrete results are evident. Nigeria’s fintech sector, led by global brands such as Flutterwave, Paystack, and Moniepoint, continues to dominate Africa’s financial technology space.
“Local startups like Andela, Interswitch, and Kuda have become symbols of Nigerian ingenuity, attracting billions of dollars in foreign investment. The growth of tech hubs in Lagos, Abuja, and Kaduna, and the government’s direct collaboration with Google, Microsoft, and Meta for youth training and digital innovation, underscore Nigeria’s new global relevance,” he said.
According to him, beyond private innovation, government-driven initiatives are reshaping public administration.
He said that the adoption of digital ID systems, online business registration, e-taxation, and e-governance reforms across ministries, departments, and agencies reflected a government that was embracing efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
“These deliberate interventions are no accident. They are the product of President Tinubu’s strategic vision to diversify Nigeria’s economy and reduce dependence on oil through knowledge-driven growth. It is this courage to think ahead and act decisively that separates him from opposition leaders who remain stuck in analogue politics while Tinubu is busy building a digital future.
“Lagos APC is proud that the President’s tech revolution draws directly from the Lagos model, where technology transformed governance, expanded the tax net, and made the state Nigeria’s undisputed economic hub. That template, now being replicated nationwide, has become the backbone of a new digital Nigeria – a Nigeria that is innovative, competitive, and future-ready,” Mr Oladejo added.

Tinubu
Urging Nigeria’s opposition parties to abandon the politics of bitterness and backwardness, Mr Oladejo said that Mr. Tinubu was redefining leadership in the digital age.
“While they trade insults and chase shadows, he is investing in broadband, training millions of young Nigerians, and building platforms that will sustain generations. The contrast is clear: one side is working to secure Nigeria’s digital destiny; the other is stuck in analogue dreams of the past.
“Under President Tinubu, Nigeria is not just catching up with the rest of the world. We are taking the lead as Africa’s digital vanguard,” he said.

The Securities and Exchange Commission and National Youth Service Corps have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a community development service group focused on investment education for corps members.
The initiative was designed to sensitise young Nigerians to the risks of fraudulent investment schemes and promote sound, legitimate investment practices.
According to a statement by the SEC on Sunday, the MoU was recently signed by its director-general, Emomotimi Agama and NYSC director-general, Olakunle Nafiu.
It was also meant to promote financial literacy and sound investment habits among young Nigerians.
In addition, the collaboration will help equip corps members with essential knowledge and skills to identify and avoid Ponzi schemes and other illegal investment practices.
It will also help enhance public awareness campaigns against illegal financial schemes across all LGAs in the country, among other objectives.
“Based on the scope of the collaboration, SEC shall develop and provide relevant and up-to-date educational content, materials, and training modules on capital market operations, safe investment practices, and the identification and avoidance of Ponzi schemes.
“SEC will also be responsible for the content, resources and funding of training sessions for selected corps members and NYSC supervisors who will serve as trainers and facilitators in their respective communities.

“On its part, the NYSC shall facilitate the integration of anti-Ponzi scheme education into its Education and Enlightenment CDS programme. This may involve dedicated sessions, workshops, or awareness campaigns during orientation camps and throughout the service year,” said the statement.
The parties shall collaborate on joint awareness campaigns, utilising various channels and platforms, including social media, traditional media, and community outreach, to disseminate information on safe investment and expose fraudulent schemes.

Persistent Grid Collapse, Weak Power Supply Worsening Economic Hardship: Oyintiloye
Persistent Grid Collapse, Weak Power Supply Worsening Economic Hardship: Oyintiloye
Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye said the situation had continued to deteriorate despite assurances and reforms introduced by authorities.
He described unreliable electricity as a major setback to the federal government’s reforms in the power sector.
He appealed to President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene, noting that poor power supply is worsening economic hardship across the country.
Oyintiloye said the poor supply has compounded the effects of the current heatwave, making living conditions more difficult for many Nigerians.
The former lawmaker called for the constitution of a panel to investigate recurring national grid collapses and persistent supply challenges despite significant investments.
“It is a terrible situation across Nigeria with persistent poor power supply,” he said.
“Many small-scale businesses and large industrial players are affected, while most homes cannot boast of even three hours of electricity supply daily for domestic use.
“Despite numerous reforms and promises, the national grid continues to collapse. The situation is now compounded by gas supply shortages, weak transmission infrastructure, and chronic underinvestment across the power value chain.
“Nigerians are groaning, and urgent action must be taken by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and his team. The situation cannot continue like this.”
Oyintiloye warned that the situation has already triggered protests in parts of the country and could escalate if not addressed promptly.
“The situation must be quickly addressed before it becomes a national embarrassment. Nigerians need to be informed whether the issue is due to structural failure or sabotage within the power sector,” he said.

Electricity
“This epileptic power supply has led to a series of peaceful protests nationwide. I appeal for the President’s intervention before these protests turn violent.
“Electricity is essential for households and the survival of businesses. Since the end of last year, there has been no stable power supply across the country, despite assurances by those in charge and huge investments in the sector.
“Poor power supply should not be added to the challenges Nigerians are currently facing. The high cost of fuel has also made it difficult for those relying on generators to cope.”
