Nasarawa Lawmaker Seeks Collective Efforts Against Insecurity: Easte
Collective efforts against insecurity. A member representing Kokona East constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Daniel Ogazi, has called for prayers and support for government and security agencies in order to win the war against insecurity in the country.
Mr Ogazi, the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, stated this in his Easter message on Sunday in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
He said that security is the responsibility of all and there’s the need for collective efforts among Nigerians to end it.
Mr Ogazi urged the people to join hands with the government and security agencies as well as pray for our security agents in the battle field to win the war against insecurity.
“People are quick to blame the government, President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abdullahi Sule, local government chairmen and other government officials cannot take guns by themselves to fight insecurity.
“I think government is working, doing its best, let’s join hands together with government and security agencies to fight and end insecurity in the country.
” People should always report suspicious movement of persons or groups to appropriate authority for necessary action” he said.
Mr Ogazi while felicitating with Christians on Easter, admonished them and other Nigerians to continue to live together and embrace peace at all times.
He stated, “Jesus Christ died on the cross to salvage mankind. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has overcome death, poverty, criminality, envy and all forms of evil acts. I want to urge Christians and other Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of Lent and also assist the poor and less privileged ones in the society.”
Mr Ogazi urged politicians and other stakeholders to play politics in line with the provisions of the constitution and electoral act in the interest of peace and development of the country.
“Leadership comes from God. Politicians should allow people to decide whom they want based on their conscious. Politicians should accept people’s choice and no need to castigate and blackmail people in the name of politics” he said.
Mr Ogazi assured of continued effective and sound representation at the state legislature.

Nasarawa Assembly
He called on the people to continue to support the APC-led administration at all levels to succeed.
On calls on him to contest for House of Representatives seat in 2027, Mr Ogazi said he would make his decision public at an appropriate time, saying that he is still consulting with his family, political associates, stakeholders and other well wishers.

Obi Question Tinubu’s Empty Promise After Bandits Attacked Jos Again
Obi Question Tinubu’s Empty Promise After Bandits Attacked Jos Again
“How can a president make such a categorical promise and, mere hours later, the nation continues to count the dead across multiple states?” said Mr
Former presidential candidate Peter Obi says President Bola Tinubu’s promise to protect the people of Plateau has failed following the latest deadly attack on the Nyamgo Gyel community in Jos South local council.
In a statement on Monday, the former Anambra governor said, “Less than 24 hours after President Tinubu stood at the Jos Plateau State airport on April 2, 2026, and promised the grieving Nigerian citizens, ‘I promise you that this experience will not repeat itself’, another brutal attack occurred in Nyamgo Gyel, Jos South LGA, resulting in the deaths of several innocent citizens.
“Since then, and only a week following that reassuring promise from the president, Nasarawa state has been plunged into grief as the Akyawa and Udege Kasa communities fled for their lives after gunmen killed at least 11 people. Many homes were reduced to ashes, and numerous families remain missing.”
He noted that in Zamfara, 150 people were abducted from the Kurfa Danya and Kurfan Magaji communities, adding that on the same day of the Zamfara kidnappings, terrorists in Borno State stormed Chibok, killing four officers and burning down houses.
“Yesterday, on Easter Sunday, Benue state was rocked by violence again, with over 17 Nigerians massacred, entire communities left in ruins, and many individuals still unaccounted for. Today, in Kaduna state, several innocent citizens were killed by terrorists inside churches, with many others abducted in the Ariko community of Kachia LGA.
“Yet we were told, ‘This experience will not repeat itself’. This represents a failure of leadership and responsibility, and sadly, Nigerians are paying for it with their lives,” Mr Obi said.
According to Mr Obi, the attackers are not ghosts, adding that they were, however, emboldened by the authorities’ inaction.
“How can a president make such a categorical promise and, mere hours later, the nation continues to count the dead across multiple states? The primary responsibility of any government is to protect lives and property; however, this responsibility is failing today.

Peter Obi, Tinubu
“Nigerians are being slaughtered in their homes, in their communities, and in the very places they should feel safest. Even the President did not enter these communities, so who is truly safe in Nigeria? This is a national emergency. Nigeria is bleeding, and the situation is worsening and increasingly helpless,” Mr Obi noted.
Mr Tinubu visited Jos last Thursday, where he confined himself to the Yakubu Gowon Airport during his condolence visit to relatives and victims of a violent attack on the Gari Ya Waye community of Angwan Rukuba, in Jos North. During his speech, the president promised residents that there’d be no repeat of such incident in the state.
