Asari Dokubo appointed leader of muslims in South East, South South. The Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri (Elem Kalabari) in Rivers State, Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I, has been appointed as the President-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (Ameer Muminin) for the South East and South South regions of Nigeria.
The appointment was formally announced during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Eastern and Southern Nigeria Islamic Council to his palace in Elem Kalabari, Rivers State.
Speaking on the significance of the appointment, the Vice President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Haroun Ogbonnia Ajah, described Asari Dokubo as a pillar of Islam in Nigeria, acknowledging his unwavering commitment to the faith since the 1980s.
He highlighted Dokubo’s efforts in building mosques, supporting Muslim communities, and promoting religious harmony across the country.

In his acceptance speech, Asari Dokubo pledged to use his new position to uplift Muslims in the region, particularly through economic empowerment initiatives aimed at improving their livelihoods.
He further urged prayers and support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, emphasizing the need for good governance and national development.
The visit concluded with special prayers for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria.

Woman seeks divorce over husband’s high s3xual demands. A 37-year-old woman, Linda Stephen, has filed for divorce at a Kaduna Customary Court, citing her husband, Felix Stephen’s, overwhelming s3xual demands as the reason.
Linda, a resident of Ungwan Sunday in Kaduna, told the court that her husband frequently forced her into prolonged intimacy from midnight until morning, sometimes ignoring her distress. She also accused him of physically assaulting her whenever she refused his advances.

Woman Seeks Divorce
Married for six years, she stated that she had moved out of their home three months ago and was unwilling to return despite pleas from his relatives.
“I can no longer endure his excessive s3xual demands. Even when I cry, he refuses to stop,” she said.
In response, Felix admitted to his actions but expressed his desire to reconcile, pledging to control himself. He urged the court to help mediate, stating that he still loves his wife.
The judge, John Dauda, adjourned the case until May 6 to allow time for possible reconciliation, advising both parties to maintain peace.

Governor Umo Eno fully sets for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, purchases 30,000 march tickets for fans. In line with his determination and promise to moblize support for the victory of the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has purchased 30,000 tickets for football fans and supporters ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification match scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Sequel to the purchase of match tickets for onward distribution to fans, the following venues will serve as distribution centres for match tickets as from 5pm of today, Monday, March 24:
1. All Radio Stations
2. De Venus Bar and Restaurant, Stadium Road, Uyo
3. Uyo Township Stadium, Uyo
4. Plaza Management Committee Office, Ibom Plaza, Uyo
5. All previous sales agents and centres
Consequently, fans are to note the following:
1. The tickets are FREE. Do not BUY tickets from anybody.
2. No persons will be permitted entry into the stadium without tickets.
3. Tickets will not be distributed at the stadium. Fans without tickets should not be found within the stadium vicinity.

2026 World Cup Qualifiers
4. Fans in the stadium must be orderly and must abide by the seating arrangements and instructions as would be announced by the organizers.
5. All FIFA/CAF/NFF rules bordering on the organization of international football matches would be strictly adhered to.
6. Security agencies have been put on notice to ensure strict compliance to all the aforementioned.
This gesture by His Excellency is to encourage citizens and residents of the state to come out en masse and cheer the Super Eagles to victory.

Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) achieves higher CDP ratings for climate change, water security. Dangote Cement Plc is sub-Saharan Africa’s largest cement producer with an installed capacity of 45.6Mta across 10 African countries.
Dangote Cement Plc (DCP) has achieved a ‘B’ score in climate change and water security disclosures according to the recently released 2024 CDP results.
CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) is the world’s largest, most comprehensive dataset on environmental action which empowers investors, companies, cities, and national and regional governments to make earth-positive decisions. Dangote Cement has disclosed its environmental practices annually through the CDP since 2018.
CDP provides a voluntary framework for companies to report on Climate, Water Security, and Forests.
It rigorously evaluates corporate environmental performance, assigning scores from A to D based on companies’ transparency, governance, and measurable actions towards sustainability.
Following the release of company scores in February, Dangote Cement’s score on water security which was C was upgraded to B. Similarly, the company’s commitment to supporting a climate resilient future was also demonstrated in its climate change score of B in 2024.
Managing Director/Chief Executive, Dangote Cement, Mr. Arvind Pathak speaking on the new rating said, ‘Dangote Cement leads in Africa as one of few businesses in six states and regions of Africa to disclose through CDP.’ He further stated that ‘the 2024 score is an outcome of ongoing efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, accelerate climate action and promote sustainability across our business and its value chain’.
The Head, Sustainability, Dangote Cement, Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba in her remarks expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who aligned with the Group’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy overseen by the company’s Board which supported the achievement of an improved rating this year.
She stated that ‘this year’s results are evidence that our contribution to create a world where people, planet and profit are truly balanced is paying off.’
