The Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources and Sanitation, Hon. Ubuo Ubuo E Ph.D, has described Governor Umo Eno as โ€œENO-OROโ€, meaning the true gift of the Oro people, for what he termed an unprecedented spread of development projects across the Oron/Mbo/Urueoffong Oruko/Udung Uko/Okobo Federal Constituency in less than two years in office.

Speaking to Newsmen, Saturday at Oron Township Stadium, venue of the Governorโ€™s Town Square meeting with the people of the Oro Nation, Dr. Ubuo said the 5 Local Government Areas of the Federal Constituency were not only witnessing inclusion under Governor Enoโ€™s administration but are now actively experiencing governance and development like never before.

He disclosed that over 52 key projects are currently ongoing with some completed within the federal constituency under the ARISE Agenda, cutting across road infrastructure, education, health, water, sanitation, agriculture, tourism, security, economic and industrial advancement.

Among the landmark projects mentioned by the Commissioner were the dualization of the Airportโ€“Nsit Ataiโ€“Okopedi Road, the dualization of the Okopediโ€“Oron Road by East West Road, and the construction of the Nung Ataiโ€“Ebighi Etaโ€“Obufi Atabong Market Road, among several others.

He also listed the Okopedi Okobo Model Primary School, the Maritime Hub Project, and the Tourism Development and Environmental Management initiatives as indicators of the Governorโ€™s visionary leadership.

According to Dr. Ubuo, the education and health sectors in the Federal Constituency have witnessed robust investments, alongside infrastructural maintenance and a never-before-seen level of political inclusion for Oro sons and daughters.

He emphasized that the security architecture of Oro Nation has been fortified under the current administration, stating that, โ€œfor the first time, our people can sleep with their two eyes closed.โ€

The former Okobo Council Boss praised the Governor for his sincerity of purpose and inclusivity, noting that the ARISE Agenda is not just a slogan, but a deliberate, people-oriented blueprint that is touching lives and reviving trust in governance.

โ€œToday, our leader, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, has wiped away the tears of Oro people and given us a renewed sense of belonging,โ€ he said.

While expressing gratitude for the N335 million empowerment packages distributed to farmers, traders and entrepreneurs in the constituency during the Town Square meeting, Dr. Ubuo said the Governor has etched his name in the hearts of Oro people as one who gives and not just promises.

He assured the Governor of the total loyalty and support of the Oro people, saying โ€œTo whom much is given, much is expected, and for a people who are known to be united, we are not going to fail.โ€

The Water Resources and Sanitation Commissioner also used the occasion to commend the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, for her tireless efforts in ensuring that the concerns of the Oro people remain at the front burner of the administration.

We shall continue to safeguard this gift through our votes, our 100% loyalty, and our collective commitment to the ARISE Agenda beyond 2031″

Akwa Ibom Indigenes Protest RMAFC Meeting, Warn Against Tampering With Stateโ€™s Oil Wells

Akwa Ibom indigenes protest RMAFC meeting, warn against tampering with Stateโ€™s Oil Wells. Akwa Ibom indigenes resident in Abuja on Tuesday stormed the venue of a meeting of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), where the Inter-Agency Technical Committee (IATC) on Disputed/New Oil Wells was sitting, to protest what they described as attempts to reopen a matter already settled by the Supreme Court.

The protesters cautioned that no individual or agency should tamper with Akwa Ibom Stateโ€™s 76 oil wells, stressing that the ownership of the wells was conclusively determined in favour of the state by the Supreme Court in 2012.

They insisted that any move to revisit the issue through administrative or technical processes would amount to a disregard for the authority of the apex court and could undermine peace in the Niger Delta region.

Akwa Ibom State was formally represented at the IATC meeting by a high-powered delegation comprising leading legal practitioners, government officials and technocrats. Members of the delegation included Paul Usoro, SAN; Assam Assam, SAN; the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Uko Udom, SAN; Uwemedimo Nwoko, SAN; Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN; and a former Attorney-General of Akwa Ibom State.

PVC, APC E-Registration: Umo Eno Charges Constituents To Embrace Exercises

PVC, APC e-registration: Umo Eno charges constituents to embrace exercises. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has urged indigenes and residents of Ibiakpan Obotim Ward II, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, as well as others across the state, to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and APC membership e-registration exercise, as, according to him, it is crucial for validating party membership and ensuring their voices are heard.

Addressing a crowd of APC members and supporters at his hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo, the Governor said that boosting both registrations is also critical to attracting more dividends, programmes, and welfare to the area.

“More party membership in a particular Ward implies more allocation of the party’s welfare to the place. And, I enjoin you to step up the membership numbers in order to be significant and relevant in the party’s scheme of things,” he noted.

The Governor directed the people to ensure that they register appropriately with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to have their Permanent Voters Cards, PVC, and become eligible to participate in future electoral exercises.

“No matter how populated you are in your party, if you don’t have your PVC, such a party population will be meaningless because your vote would not be counted as expected.
