Elon Musk’s X Raises Nearly $1bn From Investors Despite Recent Cyberattacks
Elon Musk’s X raises nearly $1bn from investors despite recent cyberattacks. Elon Musk’s social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), has secured nearly $1 billion in new equity funding from investors, maintaining a valuation close to its 2022 level when Musk took the company private.
According to Bloomberg, the latest deal values X’s equity at approximately $32 billion. Musk’s $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in 2022 included at least $12.5 billion in debt, meaning the new funding keeps the company’s enterprise value largely unchanged.
Sources familiar with the matter confirmed Musk’s participation in the fundraising, with reports indicating that X may use part of the funds to reduce its outstanding debt.

Investment firms such as Darsana Capital Partners, which had previously acquired some of X’s debt, and 1789 Capital, a backer of Musk’s ventures xAI and SpaceX, were among those involved in the funding round.
This development comes just weeks after X suffered a major cyberattack that disrupted its services.
Musk attributed the outages to a “massive cyberattack” but did not provide further details.

“that tank is 22,000 liters, you know we take water in jerry-cans which is about 20 liters. If you divide 22,000 liters by twenty, it gives you about 1,100 of the Jerry-cans and if you take it fifty Naira that is sold here, that takes you 55,000 per day.
Multiply that by a week, you will have about 385,000. So you multiply by a month which is four weeks, then multiply by 12 or 365 days, so you have about eighteen million, four hundred and fifty thousand Naira saved the community from buying water in a year,” Mr. Udoh explained.

Namibia swears in first female president Netumbo. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah made history as Namibia’s first female president as she took office after being sworn in.
Mrs Nandi-Ndaitwah, 72, who was vice president, was sworn in on Friday, succeeding President Nangolo Mbumba.
Due to heavy rainfall, the Namibian president’s swearing-in, which coincided with the country’s 35th Independence Anniversary, was moved from Independence Stadium to State House in Windhoek.
Mrs Nandi-Ndaitwah polled 58 per cent of the votes, surpassing the 50 per cent requirement to win in the last election held in November 2024.
Her challenger, Panduleni Itula of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) party, came second with roughly 26 per cent of the votes.
The 72-year-old politician now joins the exclusive club of female presidents in Africa, including former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, Joyce Banda of Malawi, and Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania.

Customs Area Controller John Harrison revealed this on Friday, identifying the suspect as Okorie Sunday, who arrived on March 19, 2025, and attempted to smuggle the cash hidden on his body.
Violation of Financial Regulations
Harrison explained that the passenger declared only $279,000 but concealed an additional $299,000, violating Nigeria’s $10,000 cash declaration limit. He also had £100 and a counterfeit $250.

The seized cash was handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigation.
EFCC’s acting Zonal Director, Ahmed Ghali, warned that failing to declare large sums of cash raises money laundering concerns and urged travelers to comply with financial regulations.
