NAF Delivers New Classrooms, Clean Water to Yobe Communities

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) commissioned community intervention projects in Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State on 5 September 2026, reinforcing its commitment to civil-military relations and grassroots development.

Executed under the Chief of the Air Staff’s (CAS) Special Intervention Projects initiative in honour of Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Idi Sani, the projects include the renovation and furnishing of three blocks containing six classrooms and three staff offices at Sabon Gari Primary School, as well as the rehabilitation of two blocks at the Transit Secondary School site, comprising four classrooms, a multipurpose laboratory, students’ kitchen and three staff rooms. Four solar-powered boreholes were also constructed at Nahuta, Yindiski Gakoko, Gabar da Kasuwa and Maina Kaina, while an existing borehole behind the New Modern Market, Potiskum, was rehabilitated and fitted with a modern fetching point.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, represented by the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, AVM Ahmad Idris, said the projects formed part of the NAF’s broader non-kinetic operations aimed at strengthening mutual trust and fostering greater cooperation with host communities.

He explained that, beyond its constitutional responsibility of defending the nation’s territorial integrity and protecting lives and property, the NAF recognises the importance of supporting communities within its operational areas. According to him, the intervention projects address critical needs in education and access to potable water, complement government efforts and contribute to improved living conditions, while strengthening the confidence and cooperation essential to ongoing security operations.

The Special Guest of Honour and Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, represented by the Commissioner of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation, Hon. Aji Yareemah Bularafa, described the projects as a demonstration of effective civil-military cooperation and urged the benefiting communities to safeguard the facilities and sustain their partnership with the NAF and other security agencies.

Earlier, AVM Idi Sani, who executed and formally handed over the projects, expressed appreciation to the CAS for his visionary leadership and institutional support, as well as to the Yobe State Government, traditional institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders for their cooperation.

He urged the benefiting communities to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities so they would continue to serve their intended purposes and benefit present and future generations.

ATSTC: NAF Builds Mission-Ready Cabin Crew Capability to Strengthen Aviation Safety

The Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC), Kaduna, has graduated 23 Airmen and Airwomen from the Cabin Crew Initial Course 2/2026, reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to aviation safety, professional excellence and operational effectiveness.

The graduation ceremony, held on 4 September 2026, marked another milestone in the development of highly skilled personnel capable of meeting the demands of military and civil aviation.

Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Essen Paul Effanga, emphasised that aviation safety is the direct outcome of rigorous training, strict adherence to professional standards and uncompromising competence.

He charged the graduates to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism, noting that their responsibilities extend beyond passenger service to the safety, security and survival of aircraft occupants during routine and emergency operations.

The Commandant of ATSTC, Air Vice Marshal NB Folaji, reaffirmed the Centre’s resolve to remain a centre of excellence in aviation training, producing competent, disciplined and mission-ready personnel.

Beyond the classroom, the competencies acquired by the graduates are vital to the Nigerian Air Force’s wider operational effectiveness. Through training in cabin safety, emergency management, first aid, aviation security and survival techniques, they are better prepared to support safe and efficient air operations, including the movement of personnel and the execution of aviation duties in demanding environments.

NiDCOM: Campaign of Calumny Against Dabiri-Erewa Leadership Will not Work

Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on-line claiming there is no evidence of events organised by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) in 2023 to the tune of about ₦200m cannot be proven. This is totally false and a campaign of calumny ahead of 2027 general elections.

A UK based group known as Global Integrity Watch , owned by one Comrade Abraham Taiwo Adewole, fronting for the group, had contacted NIDCOM on the allegation.

NIDCOM will revert to the National Assembly and the Auditor- General’s office for any information they require.

NIDCOM will unequivocally answer any questions it officially receives from the Auditor- General or NASS when invited.

For the records, NIDCOM events in 2023, for which support even had to be sought from sponsors, had five major events among which were Global African Diaspora Summit, (which attracted participation from 16 countries and subsequently named NIDCOM Chair as the OACPS champion) National Diaspora Day, National Diaspora Merit Award, Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit, Badagry Door of Return within Nigeria alone and several others in the diaspora.

For the avoidance of doubts, all the documents relating to the expenses incurred by the Commission are intact and will be made available to the necessary National Assembly Committees oversighting the Commission when called upon.

It should be pointed out here that the Global Integrity Watch (GIW), who is raising this false alarm was registered and launched in London on August 17, 2026 targeting and witch-hunting MDAs or certain personalities for political reasons. The company registered less than a month ago to carry out the following: Information technology consultancy activities, Management of real estate on a fee or contract basis, Travel agency activities, and specialised cleaning services, is apparently focused on blackmail and witch hunting.

When NIDCOM, an agency that has carried out its responsibilities diligently despite limited resources is invited by the appropriate authorities, it will provide all necessary documentation, but will certainly not succumb to social media blackmail.
