“President Tinubu urge our security agencies to be more proactive in preventing these attacks by acting on early warning intelligence”.
PRESIDENT TINUBU CONDEMNS KILLINGS IN PLATEAU AND KADUNA, ASSURES SECURITY AGENCIES WILL BRING PERPETRATORS TO JUSTICE
President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the barbaric and cowardly attacks by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba district, Jos, Plateau State.
He equally condemned the attacks in Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Describing the attack on the community in Jos and the killing and abduction of wedding guests in Kaduna as an affront to all that Nigeria stands for, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that the barbaric acts will not go unpunished.
“Anyone who will sneak under the cover of the night and kill defenceless citizens as done in Jos and Kahir village, is a heartless coward. By attacking soft targets in Jos, their objective is not only to cause harm but also trigger a spiral of reprisal attacks and further bloodletting,” he said.
He has directed security agencies to intensify all efforts to pursue the perpetrators and those spreading misinformation that can inflame tensions and further endanger lives. He cautioned some sections of the media, insinuating the attacks were religiously motivated.
President Tinubu reaffirmed that security agencies are actively addressing the situation and stressed that public cooperation is vital to maintaining peace and protecting lives and property. He stressed the need for communities to comply with evacuation, relocation, and related advice and processes. He hailed the safe return of two of the Kaduna victims.
“I urge our security agencies to be more proactive in preventing these attacks by acting on early warning intelligence. All the remaining abductees from Kahir village must be rescued immediately”, the president said.

President Tinubu
“I commend Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for his efforts in containing the situation in Jos and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for supporting the rescue and containment efforts.
I assure the people and government of the two states of my support. I commiserate with the families of those killed and pray for the quick recovery of the injured. Our government is currently acquiring more sophisticated equipment to enable our security agencies to track and smash criminals, in real time, wherever they are.”

Tinubu Assures Nigerians Of Improved Power Supply, Says “We’re Paying Attention To It”
Tinubu assures Nigerians of improved power supply. President Bola Tinubu says his administration is paying attention to the electricity challenges across the country amid growing complaints from Nigerians over poor power supply.
Speaking on Friday at the 2026 national convention of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Tinubu acknowledged widespread concerns over electricity outages.
“I assure you, many of you lamenting the problems of electricity and power. We are paying attention to that,” the president said.
He said the grid asset management company, Camco, is expected to inject about 1,500 megawatts into a new grid corridor to strengthen supply.
“We are going to improve on it. Electricity will become better, and be assured there will be opportunity and progress in our industrialisation path,” Tinubu added.
In recent months, Nigerians have continued to decry erratic power supply and frequent outages.
On March 24, Bayo Adelabu, minister of power, apologised to Nigerians over the poor electricity supply and incessant outages witnessed in recent months.
Adelabu said the apology was necessary given the dry season, which has caused extreme heat and disrupted businesses, schools, and industries.

Tinubu Assures Nigerians
The minister said the government remains committed to ensuring adequate power supply across the country.
He said power generation and distribution are expected to improve in the next few weeks, adding that the country is targeting 6,000 megawatts of electricity before the end of the year.
Adelabu also noted that Nigeria requires over $100 billion in combined public and private sector investment to fix the power sector.
The minister pledged that the government would implement rapid corrective actions in the power sector.

Wale Edun Defends Tinubu’s Policies, Says “We Chose Reform Over Comfort”
Wale Edun Defends Tinubu’s Policies, Says “We Chose Reform Over Comfort”
Wale Edun defends Tinubu’s policies. Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, says Nigeria is now on a path of stabilisation and recovery.
Edun spoke at the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention, in Abuja on Friday.
The minister, who spoke on behalf of the federal executive council (FEC), defended the current economic hardship in the country, describing it as a necessary consequence of reforms aimed at correcting long-standing structural distortions, while insisting that the economy is beginning to recover.
“The hardship we see today is there, but it is the cost of correcting imbalances. What matters is the direction of travel,” he said.
Edun added that the reforms have begun to yield results, with economic growth strengthening from about 2 percent in previous years to approximately 4 percent currently.
“Growth has strengthened. It has doubled from about 2 percent previously to now about 4 percent per annum, which is still not enough,” he said.
The minister said the government is targeting a growth rate of about 7 percent in the medium term, which he noted is necessary to significantly reduce poverty and improve living standards.
Edun also said the reforms have helped to restore credibility in the economy, improve fiscal conditions, and rebuild confidence among both domestic and international investors.
According to him, the government has moved to eliminate distortions in key sectors, including foreign exchange and petroleum, which he said had previously weakened the economy and limited its ability to tackle poverty effectively.
“We did not continue with a broken system. We chose to act. We chose reform over delay and Nigeria over politics,” he said.
The minister added that Nigeria is now laying the foundation for long-term growth, including a target of building a $1 trillion economy, supported by investments in power, agriculture, and the digital economy.

Wale Edun
He said efforts are underway to attract private sector investment into the power sector through new financing structures, while also expanding support for farmers and strengthening industrial financing through institutions such as the Bank of Industry (BoI).
Edun also highlighted the role of the digital economy in driving job creation, particularly for young Nigerians, noting that investments in data infrastructure and technology could enable more Nigerians to earn income remotely.
The minister added that Nigeria must move from stabilisation to growth, from hardship to opportunity, and from potential to prosperity.
