HMOD Flags Off Nigerian Army Career Transition Programme As CAS Strengthen Commitment To Personnel Welfare
The Honourable Minister of Defence (HMOD), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, on 23 March 2026 flagged off the Senior Executive Career Transition Programme (SECTP), an initiative of the Nigerian Army executed by the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC), designed to prepare senior officers of the Armed Forces of Nigeria for a seamless transition to civilian life after active service.
The opening ceremony, held at Zuma Rock Resort, Suleja, was attended by senior military leadership, including the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, whose presence underscored the Nigerian Air Force’s sustained commitment to personnel welfare as a central leadership priority.
The residential programme, scheduled from 22 March to 4 April 2026, is structured to provide participants with critical insights into retirement planning, financial management, career reinvention, entrepreneurship opportunities and the psychological dynamics associated with transitioning from military to civilian life. It also features corporate immersion engagements, venture support initiatives and mentorship sessions with accomplished retired senior officers.
In his remarks, the Honourable Minister described the initiative as a strategic and proactive approach to human capital development, emphasising that the responsibility of military leadership must extend beyond active service to ensuring personnel are adequately prepared for life after retirement.
