Difference Between Christianity And Religion By Dr. Damina

Difference between Christianity and Religion by Dr. Damina. ‎Religion Is Not Christianity-
‎Have you ever asked what the difference is? brother Anthony Joshua
‎You must know the difference to know where you truly stand.

‎Look at 11 definition of religion and Christianity..

‎1. Nature
‎Religion is a system of beliefs and moral codes that judges, qualifies, or disqualifies a person based on adherence to rules, laws, traditions, and prescribed performances.

‎Christianity, however, is the divinity expressed in humanity. It is God in a man—the impartation of God’s life into the human spirit, resulting in a new creation.

‎2. Direction
‎All other religions are about man trying to reach God.

‎Christianity is about God reaching down to man:
‎Gen 1:3 – Light be is God be
‎ “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us John 1:14

‎3. Acceptance
‎Religion is man’s effort to please God through obedience and performance.

‎Christianity is Christ pleasing God on behalf of man, thereby making man acceptable to God.

‎4. Basis of Judgment
‎In religion, man is accepted or rejected based on what he does.

‎In Christianity, man is accepted by God based solely on what Jesus did, not what he did for himself. Man is judged on the basis of Christ, not personal effort.

‎5. Control vs Freedom
‎Religion is often enforced by those in authority to maintain, expand, or abuse power. It is man-made and not God’s original design.

‎For example, when a preacher forbids dancing—despite Scripture not condemning it—he adds his rules that Jesus never endorsed. Even with good intentions, this is religion, not God.

‎Common religious rules added by men include:

‎You must not watch television
‎You must not use drums in worship
‎You must not sit beside a female in church
‎You must not eat or drink certain foods
‎Only men may wear trousers (though Jesus Himself did not)
‎You must avoid certain types of music
‎You must recite ritualistic prayers
‎You must earn salvation by good deeds
‎These are human traditions, not the Gospel.

‎6. Doing vs Done
‎Religion focuses on what man must do to be right with God.
‎Christianity proclaims what God has already done to make man right with Himself.–

‎7. Salvation
‎Religion says salvation must be earned by good works and moral behavior.
‎Christianity declares salvation as a free gift, received by believing that Christ already paid the full price for sin.

‎Christianity teaches that:
‎All men are sinners and cannot save themselves

‎Jesus took our place and bore our judgment

‎Salvation is received by faith, not effort

‎8. Effort vs Grace
‎Religion says:
‎-You reap only what you sow
‎-You suffer for every mistake
‎-You get only what you deserve
‎This places the emphasis on human effort.

‎Christianity says:
‎You receive because of what Christ has done
‎You reap because Christ sowed for you
‎The boast is not in man’s labor but in Christ’s finished work

‎9. Relationship, Not Ritual
‎Christianity is not a checklist of rules.
‎It is about relationship—both vertical (with God) and horizontal (with others).

‎No rituals. No rhetoric.
‎Just believe in Jesus Christ, receive His free gift, and allow God to work love and transformation in you.

‎It sounds simple—almost foolish—but it is powerful.

‎ “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
‎— 1 Corinthians 1:18

Difference Between Christianity And Religion

‎10. Boasting
‎A religious man boasts in fasting, prayer, giving, tithes, works, anointing, power, righteousness, and spiritual achievements—crediting himself.
‎A Christian refuses to boast in personal effort and boasts only in what Christ has done, declaring:
‎“Not by my power, not by my effort, but by the grace of God in Christ Jesus.”

‎11. Identity
‎A religious man sees himself as a sinner, based on his works and failures.
‎A Christian calls himself righteous, not because of what he did right or wrong, but because of what Jesus did for him.

‎Religion existed before Jesus—but it saved no one.
‎That is why Jesus came with His Gospel.
‎This Gospel does not appeal to human wisdom.
‎Religion makes sense to the natural mind because it is carnal practice.

‎It makes no sense to the flesh to say “God in a man makes him righteous.”
‎But it makes sense to say “Live perfectly to become righteous.”

‎Awake from carnality and come into true Christianity.
‎Selah!

Nigeria Popular Pastor Reveals Why Christians Go To Church With Offerings

Nigeria popular pastor reveals why Christians go to Church with offerings. You don’t go to church with an offering to bribe God. You don’t give so that God will bless you. That mentality is transactional, and it is not the gospel. God is not a merchant, and church is not a marketplace.

In Christ, you are already blessed. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3). If God has already blessed you with all blessings, what exactly are you trying to buy with money?

Offering is not a tool for manipulation. It is not a seed to twist God’s hand. It is a response to understanding. When light comes, giving follows. You don’t give to get; you give because you have received.

You go to church with an offering because ministry requires resources. The gospel must be preached, and preaching the gospel to reach a greater audience costs money. church facilities, media equipment, missions, outreaches, welfare, administration, all these require finances.

The work of the ministry does not run on wishes; it runs on resources.
Jesus had a treasury (John 12:6). Paul collected offerings to support ministry work and missions
(1 Corinthians 16:1–2, Philippians 4:15–18).

The early church gave to sustain the spread of the gospel (Acts 4:34–35). Giving has always been about supporting the work, not paying God, or bribing God to respond to your case.

When you give, you are partnering with the gospel. You are saying, “I believe in this message, and I want it to go far.” You are investing in lives, in souls, in eternity. That is why Paul said their giving was “fruit that abounds to your account,” not because God needed their money, but because the gospel was advancing through it.

“THIS IS WHY YOU GO
TO CHURCH WITH AN OFFERING”

The Church

Why Christians Go To Church With Offerings

Offering is stewardship, You are managing resources God already put in your hands. You are not losing, You are not buying blessings; you are financing the message that blesses lives.

So, you don’t give to be blessed. You give because you are blessed. You don’t give out of fear. You give out of understanding. You don’t give under pressure. You give in partnership.
