Governor Soludo Donates 30 Vehicles To Police In Anambra
Governor Soludo donates 30 vehicles to police in Anambra. Mr Soludo announced this on Thursday in Awka, during the presentation of the vehicles to the police commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu.
Governor Charles Soludo has donated 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles to the police command in Anambra.
Mr Soludo announced this on Thursday in Awka, during the presentation of the vehicles to the police commissioner, Ikioye Orutugu.
“In a robust push to sustain security gains across the state, we donated 30 operational vehicles to the Nigerian police, Anambra command. This is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement capacity and deepen community safety in our state,” he said.
In 2025, the Anambra government donated 170 vehicles to security agencies.
Mr Soludo reflected on the imperative of security, recalling that in January 2025, his administration inaugurated the Agunechemba, alongside Operation Udo Ga Achị, a joint task force designed to combat the wave of criminality that once ravaged many parts of Anambra.
The security situation in Anambra has improved 12 months after the inauguration of the two security outfits tasked with working with the police and other security agencies.
He credited the security agencies for their unwavering vigilance in restoring law and order in the state.
“Thanks to the security agencies for keeping awake to make sure we sleep,” he said.
The governor noted that the efforts of the security agencies encouraged the mass return of Anambra indigenes to their communities this Christmas, and they celebrated confidently in the safety of their homeland.
He noted that security remained a top priority for his administration.
“This new addition of 30 Hilux vehicles is specifically for the Nigeria Police Force to enhance mobility and responsiveness in fighting crime and keeping the state safe,” he said.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the police command, Mr Orutugu expressed gratitude for the augmentation in resources, recognising the vehicles as a critical tool for effective policing and rapid response to threats.
According to him, this donation is expected to improve patrolling, curb criminal activities, and reinforce the state’s positive security trajectory.
He said that the state government’s strategic investments in law enforcement capacity signal a sustained commitment to protecting lives, encouraging economic growth, and ensuring the overall well-being of residents.
“This timely boost to the police force not only equips officers and men with modern means to serve but also reassures communities that their safety remains a non-negotiable priority of the state government,” he said.

Speaking during the engagement, the Commandant of RTCA Bauchi, Squadron Leader Lawrence Akpan, underscored the critical role of intelligence in the success of special operations, noting that effective intelligence supports mission planning, threat assessment, surveillance, target identification and force protection.
He emphasized that every special forces operator must possess sound knowledge of intelligence processes, operational security and information management to effectively execute assigned tasks.
In his lecture, the Command Intelligence Officer at Headquarters Special Operations Command, Squadron Leader E Miji, exposed the trainees to key areas of intelligence operations, including intelligence gathering techniques, surveillance and reconnaissance, counterintelligence, information analysis and operational threat assessment.
As part of the training, the participants engaged in practical exercises and simulated operational scenarios designed to test their analytical thinking, situational awareness and decision-making abilities under pressure.
