Zamfara APC Endorses President Tinubu For Second Term
Zamfara APC endorses President Tinubu for second term. According to Mr Idris, the endorsement letter was duly signed by the party’s leaders and stakeholders.
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term following the visit of the minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle, to the state.
The state APC publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris, disclosed this to journalists in Gusau on Saturday.
Mr Matawalle is currently on a three-day working visit to the state.
Upon arrival in the state on Thursday, the minister was greeted by a massive crowd of APC supporters and stakeholders.
Mr Matawalle had also held a stakeholders’ meeting with the leadership of the party at the state APC headquarters on Friday.
“The minister also visited the Headquarters of Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma of the Nigerian Army, in Gusau.
According to Mr Idris, Mr Matawalle also proceeded to his hometown, Maradun, to meet with relatives, friends, and well-wishers.
Mr Idris said that the party’s leadership in the state under Tukur Danfulani, in appreciation of the minister’s visit to the state, had endorsed Mr Tinubu for a second term.
The endorsement was contained in a letter signed by the chairman and secretary of the party, addressed to Mr Tinubu through Mr Matawalle.
The letter read in part: “This followed a series of meetings by members of our great, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, comprising leaders, stakeholders, and teeming supporters, held on Saturday, 1st Nov. 2025 in Talata-Mafara, and on Friday, 14th Nov. 2025 at the State Party Secretariat in Gusau.
“The party deliberated extensively under the distinguished leadership of Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
“After careful consideration of the remarkable achievements of the current administration under the focused and visionary leadership of Tinubu.
“This is particularly in the areas of economic reform and the courageous, pragmatic efforts to address national security challenges, the Zamfara APC unanimously endorsed Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027.”

According to Mr Idris, the endorsement letter was duly signed by the party’s leaders and stakeholders.
It continued, “Subsequently, stakeholders across all 14 local government areas of Zamfara initiated further validation of this resolution through individual letters signed by their respective party chairmen and secretaries.
“These letters reaffirmed the resolutions reached at the Talata-Mafara and Gusau meetings and were duly submitted to the State Executive Committee of the APC, under the leadership of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, for onward transmission to His Excellency.
“In the light of these collective affirmations, we are confident, by the special will and grace of Almighty Allah, that our great party, the APC, will achieve resounding victory across the entire North-West zone in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.”

Police Arrest Six Suspects Over Alleged Sale Of Stolen Vehicles In Ondo
The police command in Ondo State has arrested six suspects over the alleged fraudulent sale and illegal transfer of three heavy-duty vehicles valued at more than N71 million.
The command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Fagun Division.
The suspects were identified as Adeola Kolawole, Gani Bello, Oladoja Akeem, Wasiu Adigun, Azeez Yusuf and Ojo Mudasiru, 40.
Mr Jimoh said the suspects were apprehended in Ibadan, Oyo State, following an intelligence-driven investigation by operatives of the division.
“The case was reported to the Police on 22nd May, 2026, by one Mr. Paul Aderemi of Ayegunle Street, Ondo.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that in May 2025, the complainant purchased a low-loader truck, a tipper truck, and a small truck valued at approximately ₦71 million, which he entrusted to the custody of the principal suspect, Adeola Kolawole, at Arigbabola Street, Ondo, under an agreed arrangement,” he said.
According to him, the complainant later discovered on May 13, 2026, that the vehicles had allegedly been sold without his authorisation.
Mr Jimoh said the complainant subsequently reported the matter to the police.
“Upon receipt of the complaint, detectives immediately commenced a comprehensive investigation. Acting on credible intelligence, the principal suspect, Adeola Kolawole, was arrested and subsequently made useful statements during interrogation, allegedly admitting to selling the vehicles to one Alhaji Gani Bello in Ibadan,” said Mr Jimoh.

He added that the suspect’s confession provided vital leads that enabled investigators to track down and arrest other suspects believed to have played various roles in the alleged transaction.
“The command is currently intensifying efforts to recover the three vehicles and unravel the full extent of the criminal conspiracy.”
“All six suspects have reportedly made confessional statements detailing their respective involvements in the offence. They will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations,” Mr Jimoh said. Eereporter.com

Alleged Impersonation Of EFCC Staff: Defendant Faces Judgment June 15
Justice A. I. Akobi of the Federal Capital Territory, High Court, Kubwa, Abuja, on Monday, June 1, 2026, slated June 15, 2026 for judgment in the case of criminal impersonation of officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and extortion by one Salifu Olije Mustapha.
At Monday’s proceeding, the EFCC presented its First Prosecution Witness, PW1, Stanley Ujilibo against the defendant.
The witness, an investigator with the EFCC, disclosed that the Commission received intelligence on how the defendant and two others, identified as Haruna Mamuda Adamu and Abubakar Umar Hamisu- who are currently under arrest and investigation by a security agency-on several occasions kitted themselves with fake operational uniforms of EFCC and set out in the defendant’s Toyota Corolla, with registration number KTU-399-GT to extort money from unsuspecting youths around Sherif Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja.

He further disclosed that the defendant’s share of the proceeds of their criminal activities is usually paid into his account with Moniepoint Microfinance Bank, adding that EFCC’s investigation team had to write Moniepoint for the statement of the defendant’s account as well as his account opening package and certificate of identification.
Documents, including video evidence, recorded by eyewitnesses during one of the gang’s unlawful activities, tendered in evidence by prosecution counsel, R.U. Adagba were admitted by the court and marked Exhibit A to D.

EFCC
On his part, counsel to the defendant, John Ainetor, prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable him review the evidence and cross-examine the witness.
The defendant is being prosecuted by the EFCC on a four-count charge, bordering on criminal impersonation to which he pleaded guilty upon arraignment.
Justice Akobi adjourned the matter till June 15, 2026 for continuation of cross-examination and sentencing of the defendant. Eereporter.com

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on 1 June 2026 joined the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, alongside the Honourable Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and other Service Chiefs at the International Fleet Review and Commissioning of Ships held at the Eko Atlantic Waterfront, Lagos.
The event formed a major highlight of activities commemorating the Nigerian Navy’s 70th Anniversary and brought together senior military leaders, government officials, international partners and distinguished guests in celebration of the Navy’s enduring contributions to national security and maritime development.

As a critical component of Nigeria’s military architecture, the NAF continues to provide vital air power capabilities, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, air mobility and precision air support, which enhance the effectiveness of joint military operations nationwide.
The occasion further reinforced the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s collective resolve to foster unity of effort, strengthen operational readiness and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and prosperity.
